Cette vidéo est, deux fois, une hydre à deux têtes, vidéo et performance, image éblouissante empruntée au travail d’un autre. Une image maigre et stricte mais puissante, un plan bref tiré du film de Carlos Reygadas, Lumière silencieuse.
Le cadrage utilisé dans le film se transforme en performance, l’image se fait geste.
Il s’agit ici de tenir sa main le plus longtemps possible pour protéger l’image, pour en prolonger la figuration. Une fois que la main ne s’interpose plus entre le soleil et l’objectif, c’est toute la représentation qui disparaît.
La performance est parfois un moyen de révéler des images du corps; ici elle est une des formes de la corporéisation des images.

This video is, twice, a two-headed hydra, video and performance, a dazzling image borrowed from the work of another. A lean and strict but powerful image, a short shot from Carlos Reygadas film, Silent Light.
The framing used in the film turns into a performance, and the image becomes a gesture.
To hold his hand as long as possible, to protect the image, is the only way to extend the figuration. Once the hand no longer intervenes between the sun and the lens, the whole representation disappears.
Performance is sometimes a means of revealing images of the body; here, it is one of the forms of the embodiment of images.
